Desiree Stout

Desiree is a native of the Grand Lake area, growing up in Miami until High School and then moving to and graduating from Grove. She has many fond memories of the original Shangri-La spending her summers with friends on the Island. She has watched the Resort evolve into the beautiful paradise it is today. She looks forward to what the future holds for Shangri-La and says, “It’s going to be incredible to watch Shangri-La continue to transform, and I’m so proud to be a part of the transformation.”

Desiree has a background in business ownership, aerospace, and project management and brings to Shangri-La her desire to make it the premier place of employment in our area. She attended Northeastern State University as a double major in Psychology/Sociology.

Owning several businesses of her own, including a beauty and tanning salon and a fire extinguisher sales and service business, she offers a wide range and diverse set of skills and talents. She says, “If it’s not fun or if I can’t make it fun, I don’t want to do it,” and being the Human Resources Administrator for Shangri-La has been the most challenging and fun position she has ever held.  

Having raised her family, a daughter and a son,  she has decided that now is the time to invest in herself, and she is working towards her PHR.

Desiree has recently learned to play golf and is looking forward to the new Par 3 course, The Battlefield, being completed. She also enjoys the lake, boating, socializing, and any adventure that puts her outside in the sunshine!
